My aunt safely delivered baby #3 last night. My cousin safely delivered baby #3 two weeks ago. Both of them announced their pregnancies after me.

Is there no justice in this world?

Hee. Okay, I'm not really that bitter. Now that it's the weekend, I'd actually kind of like to hold out till Sunday night. I still don't relish the idea of inducing, but if I go into labor before then, it will be another doctor who delivers me since my doctor isn't on call this weekend. And I really want it to be my doctor.

Of course, now that I say that, I'll go into labor tonight.

It's bizarre to realize that this is our last weekend, potentially our last few hours, as...just us. We don't have any big plans. I'm going to make S take me out for seafood (he hates seafood), and then I may spend my gift certificate at B&N. Woohoo! Party people. But it will be nice. I think we'll make the most of it. I know it will go by fast, but we're both so anxiou and excited, I don't think we'll mind.

I keep forgetting to mention that over New Year's weekend, S and I picked up a DVR. We debated getting a TiVo, but it was more practical for us to go with a DVR. Man alive, how did we live without this thing? It is magic.

Well, today [livejournal.com profile] pookha was the first to ask me how y'all would find out when I deliver Baby!Janie into this world, and thus she was suckered into drafted into being the one I call, and thereby the one who notifies all my beloved peeps out there in LJ-land. (Sucker! That's what you get for being the first to ask. *g*)

But seriously, she has kindly agreed to be the one to spread the word. Even if it means being awakened at 4 in the morning. (I did mention that part, pookha, right? Hee.)

Rest assured, however, that I'll be the one posting as soon as possible with full details and an entry loaded with pictures. I'll still be the rambling, bullet-point-using, squeeing fangirl I've always been, but I'll also be a new mother with a digital camera, so be prepared!

The baby shower went great, and we did indeed get "a haul." Nena, my friend who threw the shower, wrote a beautiful poem and had it framed. Everyone wanted me to read it aloud, and I did, and of course I was crying by the time I finished. It was very sweet.

There was good finger food to be had, and a cake with strawberry filling (Mmmm...). Everyone who RSVP'd actually showed up (a huge thing for my family!), and we got great gifts. Then S and I stayed and had dinner with Nena and her husband, who is S's geeky soul mate. It was a very nice day.

My weekly pregnancy update from Babycenter.com says that the baby is now putting on about an ounce a day. Holy moley. At the rate she's going, I'll be a whale by my due date!

I can't believe that, if I don't go past my due date, this time next month I could have a baby.

Going cake-browsing with my MiL today; the cake is for my baby shower, which is this Saturday, and Saturday is the day I 'officially' become 36 weeks pregnant, which as you know is NINE MONTHS, which as you know is about the time it takes to make a baby, which means that after that, she'll be considered fully-baked and she can feel free to make her appearance at any time.

S is a big 'Prison Break' fan, and he mentioned that after last week's episode it wouldn't be back on until sometime in March. And I said, "Do you realize that by the time your show comes back on, we'll have, like, a 2-month old baby?"

By the expression on his face, I could tell that completely did not occur to him.

I want this shirt very, very much. I'm adding it to my Christmas list.

Who's with me?!

My pregnancy banner shows I'm now 35 weeks along, with 35 days to go.

That is trippy. *g*

My mother-in-law may be a nutbar sometimes, but she can also be very sweet. I have been craving deviled eggs, but have no idea how to make them (I'm sure it's not beyond me, but I am not a cook), and my mom doesn't either (my mom? So not a cook), and S told his mom, and so she's making me some today and bringing them by. She also offered to make me anything else I've been craving, if I just let her know.

Man, I shoulda been milking this pregnancy thing long ago.

Also, I'm still looking for homemade gift ideas if anyone has any more!

Hey, all! Just wanted to check in and let you know that I'm still here...hanging on by a thread.

As I've explained to [livejournal.com profile] austin360 and [livejournal.com profile] pookha, for a few weeks now I have been feeling really, extraordinarily, horribly nauseous for pretty much most of every day. It's kind of debilitating. Getting to work every day is a Herculean task. No, scratch that. Getting through work every day is a Herculean task. Getting here just sucks.

I was feeling sort of good for a couple days, but that's over with, and I'm back to being really miserable. Also, exhausted. Also, very very WHINEY. ::whimper::

I'd better get a cute baby out of this.

Anyway, wanted to let you all know I'm still here, trundling on.

Hope you are all well. I promise to catch up as soon as I can.

So. I've been really out of the loop, and I apologize for that. First there was family drama, which some of you were forced to hear about, and then there was work drama (they're still doing the live-monitoring, but since I'm on lunch right now, I'm taking a chance). And basically, what with one thing and another, I've flaked out on y'all these past couple of weeks.

But I hope you will forgive me.

Cut for spoilers. )
